Byte Converter
Converts any data-size unit to all other units at once.
Converters for units, numbers, text, time zones, data sizes, and data formats. Conversions run in your browser, so your files and text never leave your device.

Convert length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, time, pressure, energy, power, angle, torque, and electric charge. Every factor comes from the exact SI or NIST definition, so 1 inch is always 2.54 cm. There are also converters for blood sugar (mg/dL to mmol/L) and for PX to REM in CSS.
The Byte Converter shows one value in every unit at once. The bytes to KB, bytes to MB, bytes to GB, and bytes to TB pages answer a single conversion in one step.
Two systems are in use. SI units count in thousands, so 1 KB is 1,000 bytes. Binary units count in powers of two, so 1 KiB is 1,024 bytes. Drive makers use SI units, while Windows divides by 1,024 and still writes "GB". That is why a new 1 TB drive shows up as about 931 GB.
JSON is what most APIs send and receive. CSV opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets. YAML is easier for people to read and edit, which is why config files use it.
The Number Base Converter handles any base from 2 to 36, and Decimal to Binary covers the most common case. Roman numerals, number to words, and Gray code have their own pages.
For text, the Case Converter switches between UPPER, Title Case, camelCase, snake_case, and more. Text to Hex, Text to Unicode, Unicode to UTF-8, and Text to Binary show the bytes behind each character. Morse code, ROT13, and the NATO alphabet spell text out in other codes.
The Time Zone Converter shows one moment in several cities, with daylight saving time applied. The Date Format Converter rewrites a date as ISO 8601, RFC 2822, SQL, or your own pattern, and Lat/Long to DMS switches coordinates between decimal degrees and degrees, minutes, and seconds.
In SI units 1 KB is 1,000 bytes. 1,024 bytes is 1 KiB. Every converter here shows both.
No. Files are read and converted in your browser.
5 MB per file for the JSON, CSV, YAML, and SQL converters.
Each one uses the exact definition of the unit, for example 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg. Results are calculated at full precision and rounded to 6 decimal places only for display.
